The Sightings Map

More than 80,000 reported UFO and UAP sightings, mapped across eight decades. Switch between a density heatmap and a by-country view, and scrub through time to watch the pattern shift.

Important: these are reported sightings, drawn mostly from the U.S.-based National UFO Reporting Center. Concentration reflects where reports are filed, driven by population, internet access, and English-language reporting, not where UAP actually are. The United States dominates the data because that is where the reporting infrastructure lives, which is a fact about reporting, not about the phenomena.

2014

Data: reports compiled by the National UFO Reporting Center (geocoded, 1940s–2014). Base map © OpenStreetMap & CARTO. Counts are binned for display; a low or empty area often means few reports, not few sightings.

The map is history. The brief is now.

The Veil tracks today's UAP developments and scores each for credibility. Free, every Sunday.
